From Barron's 2-12-07 issue:
"Financial Adviser Bryan Perry's passion is double-digit income investing. To that end and with over 20 years of experience on Wall Street, he launched an e-newsletter advisory service on Jan. 1, 2006, at ChangeWave Investing (www.changewave.com) called The 25% Cash Machine. He also has a book of the same name, published a month ago. Perry searches for securities that generate around 10% in income and at least 15% in capital gains annually."
Here are his favorite 5 for 2007.

-
AINV
Apollo Investment - $10.28
- +2.19%
- $10.01
One of his favorite five for 2007 is Apollo Investment (AINV), a lender to midsize companies. Recently trading a bit above 23, it yields about 9% and is expected to boost revenue 33% this year.

-
DSX
Diana Shipping In - $13.29
- -1.77%
- $13.57
For a "Chindia" play (China plus India), he likes Diana Shipping (DSX). Priced at around 17 and yielding 9.45%, Diana is a way to leverage on the whole emerging-market theme surrounding the pan-Asian continent.

-
BEP
Bep - $0.00
- N/A
- $N/A
For a broad-market component, Perry favors the S&P 500 Covered Call Fund (BEP). With a 10.7% dividend yield, it returned 29% last year.

-
DFR
Deerfield Capital - $4.64
- -0.43%
- $4.67
Perry expects specialty finance to perform well; his top choice there is Deerfield Triarc Capital (DFR). This real-estate investment trust trades below 17, and is a 10% yielder.

-
LCM
Advent/claymore E - $11.07
- 0.00%
- $N/A
Perry believes convertible securities will beat most other assets in 2007. Here he likes Advent/Claymore Enhanced Growth & Income Fund (LCM), which is trading at a slight discount to its net asset value while producing a dividend yield exceeding 8%.
