On Stockpickr Answers today and late yesterday, Jim Cramer responded to a new batch of questions posed by members of the Stockpickr community. Anybody can ask, respond, comment, etc at Stockpickr Answers and the top responders get ranked in our "Top Analysts" section. Here are a few of the questions Jim responded to:
-- Since Verizon (VZ) is the only one laying fiber to the home, when will their stock price start representing this?
-- Cramer, In your experience, what's the typical PEG for retailers like JC Pennys when the GDP is strong? JCP seems rather cheap compared to some of the others, however I'd just like to be able to get a better picture of the risk/reward. This is my first time on the economic cyclical train. Thanks.
-- Jim,
What is your current take on ATI? They've been out of the news since last months earnings... In their conf call they talked about strong growth potential in the 2nd half of this year. Do you see any near term catalysts for this stock? Due to their relatively small mkt cap - would you consider them a potential takeover candidate? Thanks!
-- Mr. Cramer, I bought RIG at $76 after you bought it for Actions Alert Plus. I have made
some made money. My question is weather to sell if it hits $100 or to keep it as a long term investment. It seems like the market for deep drilling rigs and their ability to raise rates makes this a stock who share price should keep rising. I only have 150 shares so it seems like an all or nothing proposition. Advice?
-- Jim, could you give me your take on MWV? It missed earnings for the 2nd Q in a row, stock dropped from its 52 week high less than 3%, was downgraded by two analysts to essentially "hold", and it's been on a slow rally ever since, reaching a much higher 52 week high yesterday. All of this on absolutely no news after the earnings report. Thanks
-- Jim,
I am new to all this stuff and was curious as to your thoughts on the stock channeling web sites? Does this stuff really work and if so any recommendations on the web site to go with?
-- Last night Jim said to sell AAPL five days before the release of the iPhone. But with sales expected to jump should I hold on to it long term? Or is this a case of sell it and reacquire my position again on the next downturn?
-- I see that some of the insiders of TSS sold about 22,000 shares within 48 hours of Mr. Cramer mentioning TSS as a possible buyout on Mad Money on May 21. I have some concern about the implications of this. Am curious what Mr. Cramer's take on this is?

Jim, your thesis on RAD, LVLT and DYN is that they will refi debt as the Fed cuts rates and this savings will drop right to the bottom lime, thus raising earnings and making the stock cheaper, BUT what happens if the Fed doesn't cut and what if they raise? Not your expectation but how would that affect your thoughts on those stocks? |
